Cregagh (formerly Ashfield) Army Cadets are based at Cregagh Presbyterian Church Hall, on the Cregagh Road, in East Belfast. We train on Monday nights 7pm to 9pm.
The Detachment originally opened for pupils at Ashfield Boys High School, but it is now an "Open Detachment" available to young people, 12-18 years old, male or female, from any school in the area.
We recruit in the BT5 and BT6 postal areas and are affiliated to the Royal Irish Regiment.

We aim to inspire young people aged between 12 (and in Year 9 at school) and 18 years of age to achieve and develop the qualities of a good citizen - whilst having lots of FUN! The training we deliver helps foster self-confidence, teamwork and a sense of belonging to the ACF family and the local community.

The most obvious being that you get to take part in loads of exciting and challenging activities such as fieldcraft, adventure training, first aid, music, sports and shooting, to name but a few.
When you join as a cadet you will make lots of new friends and get the opportunity to go on annual camp where you will meet cadets from other detachments in your county.
You may even get to go on expeditions to amazing places in the UK and sometimes even abroad.
